This morning I got a fascinating message on facebook from my cousin. She somehow gained an interest years ago in gay mormons, without knowing for sure that I was gay. She told me about a research paper that she was writing for college on the topic, and I provided her with all sorts of information. Today's message mentioned that when she was young, she remembered vividly her mother, my aunt, saying to her that "Kurt is as gay as a goose." I was kind of stunned. Fascinated. How on earth did she know? Why didn't she tell me, cause I sure didn't quite have it all figured out..... I've wondered this again and again. My brother, and others have said things like that to me.
Others chastised me (appropriately), for lying when I was confronted.
Isn't life an interesting game?

ReplyDeletea few months ago a grade school friend found me on facebook (we hadn't see each other for over 30 years). Turns out he's gay! He almost didn't contact me thinking I might not "approve." Funny world
When I came out to my closest family and friends 30% were shocked, 30% did not know but were not surprised once I came out, and 40% said they knew all along. I asked a few why they never said anything. They said they were waiting for me to acknowledge it.
